Weekly Options Recap: Volatility, Recovery, and RDDT Conviction – April 8–15, 2025

This past trading week felt like riding a rocket with no seatbelt — high risk, wild swings, and some hard-earned lessons. While the week started with pain (shoutout to NVDL…), I clawed back some green with smart moves in SOXL, RDDT, and TSLL. Plus, I built a long-term RDDT position I believe will age like fine wine.

Let’s break it all down:

๐Ÿ”ป The Hit: NVDL Put Blow-Up (4/14)

  • Play: $34 PUT (Exp: 4/17/25)

  • Contracts: 2

  • Entry: $170

  • Exit: $708

  • ๐Ÿ“‰ P/L: -538

I expected a dip in NVDL, but volatility ripped the other way. Exited late and paid the price. That trade hurt — both financially and mentally. This was due to NVDA announcing 5.5 Billion in charge/

Lesson: Don't hold and hope. React fast, manage risk, and respect premiums.

✅ Quick Turnaround: RDDT and SOXL Prints (4/14–4/15)

  • RDDT $92 PUT (Exp: 4/17)

    • Entry: $160 | Exit: $2

    • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Profit: +158

  • SOXL $9 PUT (Exp: 4/17)

    • Contracts: 5 | Entry: $150 | Exit: $20

    • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Profit: +130

RDDT was a clean snipe. Took advantage of overbought conditions, scalped nicely, and bounced back quickly from the NVDL loss. SOXL followed suit — quick in, quick out.

Lesson: Momentum trades work best when you trust your levels and take profits fast.

๐Ÿ”ฎ TSLL Swing Calls (4/8–4/9)

  • $10 Call (4 contracts) – Entry: $200 | Exit: $56 | Profit: $144

  • $10.5 Call (3 contracts) – Entry: $165 | Exit: $102 | Profit: $63

  • $11 Call (1 contract) – Entry: $50 | Exit: $15 | Profit: $35

๐Ÿ“ˆ Conviction Play: RDDT Leap (4/8)

  • RDDT $210 CALL (Exp: 1/16/2026)

    • Entry: $500 | Exit: $400

    • realized P/L: +100

This is the one I’m holding long. RDDT has strong narrative momentum, potential AI integrations, and user-generated data leverage. I'm fine with some short-term volatility on this leap.

Lesson: Leap options give you breathing room for big-picture conviction plays. No need to scalp everything.

๐Ÿš€ Final Thoughts

Despite the early blow-up on NVDL, I’m proud of how I bounced back. I kept trading small, stayed focused, and managed to turn the red into something manageable.
